New Picture Book Offers a Glimpse into Philadelphia’s Heart and Soul
News photographer Michael Viola shares over three hundred snapshots that capture twenty-five years of Philadelphia history
Between 1790 to 1800, Philadelphia was the temporary capital of the United States. Nestled along the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers, the so-called city of brotherly love has a rich and colorful history. Michael Viola, who worked as a photographer for the Philadelphia Inquirer has seen and captured through photographs this city as it grew and flourished over the years. In his new book, Time’s-a-Marchin’, he invites readers on a fascinating journey through twenty-five years of Philadelphia regional history.
Viola has been in the business of making pictures for a daily newspaper his entire life. The experience gave him the opportunity to look at Philadelphia in a different light, both as a spectator and someone whose job it was to capture the story that lay beneath every happening or subject. In Time’s-a-Marchin’, Viola brings together three hundred fifty black and white captioned photographs which he took for the Philadelphia Inquirer from 1964 to 1988.
The series of snapshots and their corresponding captions not only defined his storied life and career, it also paints a stunning portrait of the heart and soul of Philadelphia as well as the people, culture, art, religion and history that make the region even more vibrant and unique. By turns informative and engaging, Time’s-a-Marchin’ is at once a visual celebration of a remarkable city and a chronicle of one man’s journey through it.
This book will be featured at this year’s 2013 American Library Association Annual Book Exhibit in Chicago, Il, on June 29, Kim Kardashian official 2013 - Jul 01, 2013. For more information, log on to .

Buying Jewelry As A Gift For Men
Buying a few pieces of trendy jewelry can breath new life into your wardrobe. Perhaps it is a loved one you wish to purchase for. For whatever instance you need to cover, the tips held here will assist you.
It has become quite trendy to wear jewelry items of both silver and yellow gold at the same time. However, you have to find jewelry that incorporates both metals into one piece. If you do not do this, the look will appear tacky and not stylish.
Separate your jewelry for storage to avoid getting pieces tangled. It is better to use boxes, compartments, holders, and hooks for keeping pieces separate. Tossing all of your jewelry into the same box is a bad plan. This can damage fragile, delicate jewelry, and necklaces can become very tangled in other jewelry pieces.
One way to ensure that your jewelry stays clean is to put it only after you have applied your make-up and it has had time to set. All the grime and dust from your makeup attracts jewelry. Therefore, putting on jewelry beforehand can make the piece look dingy. This tip especially applies to necklaces and earrings.
If there are knots in your necklaces, you can easily untangle them. Don't give up on that tangled mass of jewelry. Instead, get a piece of plastic wrap. Place your necklace on the wrap and put baby oil or mineral oil on it. You can use needles to unravel them. Finally, use dish soap and dry gently with a towel.
Before you purchase a new piece of fine jewelry, think about how you will wear it. There is no need to spend your money on a bauble that you cannot see yourself wearing. Bear in mind the contents of your wardrobe before you purchase a piece of jewelry.
Think about getting a set of jewelry rather than a single piece. Many jewelry stores offer deals on sets of jewelry. If you purchase a necklace and earring set, you can gift the necklace on one occasion and the earrings on another. This is an excellent way to give something every holiday season without having to worry that you will forget.
Nothing says "I love you" like a beautiful, thoughtful piece of jewelry. Any woman would be melted by receiving a surprise jewelry gift. You, too, will be delighted when you share in her surprise and joy as her eyes light up and she gifts you with a smile.
Before you sell an expensive piece of jewelry, take it to a qualified appraiser or gemologist in your area. By doing this, you'll receive an accurate, truthful quote on the value of your item. Therefore, you'll be ready for any offers given on your piece when it is put on the market.
If your ideal wedding band is too expensive, you can temporarily purchase something more affordable and upgrade later. You can always get the perfect ring on another important occasion, such as a later anniversary. Many jewelers have programs that will allow you to trade your ring in exchange for something bigger.
If you are in the market for an expensive item, be sure to shop around and research the reasons for any price variances. Investing in high-quality jewelry is something you'll enjoy for many years.

The annual event is now is its third year with the largest group of attendees projected at well over 700.
The Woodstock Fruit Festival strives to address the many health Kim Kardashian dating advantages of eating fruit-based as well as environmental benefits. The festival strongly believes that one of the best things you can do for your own health and the health of the Planet is to eat more fruit! Read This Great Guide On How To Stay Young And Beautiful
Are you searching for a collection of hints and tips that can show you how to start out developing a beauty routine to follow. There is a nice beauty compilation below that will help anyone new to beauty become an expert.
Always properly wash your make-up off at night before you go to sleep. Use a makeup remover, soft washcloth and water that is warm. After, cleanse your face as you usually do. Make-up that stays on your face will clog your pores and cause acne.
Spray damp hair with "hot spray" prior to blow drying. Hair treatments that protect hair from the repeated application of heat during the blow drying process can be found at most general merchandise stores that carry hair care products. Heat protective sprays can help prevent over-drying, and provide hair with a pleasant smell after treatment.
If you see one of your polishes becoming thick and sticky, add a bit of remover to it. Put a small amount of remover into the nail polish bottle, and shake. Doing this will extend the life of your nail polish.
You can replace pricey designer skin care products with alternatives like soft washcloths, pure castile soaps, Aloe Vera gel for moisturization and even white vinegar or witch hazel for mild toning. Natural products like these can dramatically improve virtually any skin type. For moisture that aloe cannot provide, use some Vitamin E oil. Add some tea tree oil if you want a toner that is medicated.
Body lotion can help you keep from getting ingrown hairs. click After you are done shaving, apply lotion to your skin. One cause of ingrown hairs is dry skin, and when you use lotion daily you can prevent the ingrown hairs from ever appearing. Having proper moisture in your skin will bring your existing ingrown hairs to the surface, and prevent new ones from happening.
Mend haggard fingernails with a teabag. You need to take the tea from the teabag first. Then trim out a portion of the emptied bag that is big enough to cover up the torn part of your nail. Finally, place this piece on top of the tear, and paint over it with clear nail polish.
To avoid having your mascara ruined when you cry, angle your head as a way to get your tears to fall in such a way that they don't run downward. Doing this simple head trick will keep your tears from messing with your makeup.
A cheap kitchen sponge works just as well in the bathroom. Buying bulk kitchen sponges is less expensive that purchasing individual sponges from the beauty section, and they will be just as useful.
Your work makeup should always be subtle and professional. Hide blemishes by using a concealer to give your face a cleaner appearance. Use light and neutral colors when you are dealing with eye make up. If you prefer to use eyeliner, apply it lightly. Take the time to trim your eyebrows regularly. Select a lipstick or lip gloss that is just a little bit darker than your natural color. Choosing products wisely will ensure a polished, professional look that lasts all day.
The advice contained here should help you get on your way to beauty. These tips can help you look great.

Eight-time Grammy® winner Gladys Knight has enjoyed #1 hits in pop, R&B and Adult Contemporary including her mega-hits “Midnight Train to Georgia” and "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)."
